Collecting knives by Limited Production

Knives that are produced in serialized, limited productions and collaborations are often quite a rarity since there are a fixed number of knives in the aftermarket. Some knife manufacturers, such as Benchmade, Busse and Spyderco routinely serialize their productions. They may also choose to manufacture only 1000 knives for a particular model, thus a limited serialized production - "1 of #1000".

Collecting knives that are produced in limited quantities is a good idea because as the years go by, the knives that are 'Mint in Box' decreases, due to the fact that some people use them, throw away the boxes, or the knives themselves succumb to the elements and rust. The value of that particular model will go up as people start searching for minty knives.
